	Just discovered in the NANMT archive "vault": a recording of a lecture by Dr. Ashley Montagu to a local NANMT group in New Jersey in 1996.

Dr. Montagu was an English anthropologist and humanist who popularized issues such as race and gender and their relation to politics and development. He taught anatomy at various medical schools in the United States before becoming a professor of anthropology at Rutgers from 1949 to 1955. Dr. Montagu directed his numerous published studies on the significant relationship of mother and infant to the general public. He championed the humanizing effects of touch in his Time-Life documentary “Rock A Bye Baby” (1970), and in his famous book, Touching: The Human Significance of The Skin 1971. Ashley Montagu became famous as a well-known guest on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show, and for his popular work: The Elephant Man: A Study in Human Dignity.
